Association EAST-WEST for the Advancement of International Economic Contacts  in Torgau

The name of the town of Torgau derives from the Slavic term „torgowje" which means market or market place. As early as 1000 years ago merchants from the West met those from the Slavic East at the riverside of the Elbe of today's Torgau.
The Association EAST-WEST forms the old trade-tradition of the city of Torgau.
The association promotes international Business contacts, by the fact that Central- and East-European entrepreneuers will be invited to Torgau in order to meet western, primarily German, and also American Businessmen yearly.

The Association EAST-WEST is a charitable, registered organization and has an executive board.
The main field of work of the Association EAST-WEST are the international Business Exchanges, organized within spring and fall.
